Skip Counting by 2s

Skip counting by 2s means adding 2 each time. It is useful for recognising even-number patterns and building multiplication fluency.

Counting Strategy

  1. Start with the given number.
  2. Add 2 to find the next number.
  3. Continue the same pattern.
  4. Read the sequence aloud to check it.

Try skip counting forwards and backwards, then use pairs of objects to connect the number pattern to groups of two.
