About This Worksheet
This Year 2 English worksheet helps students understand how pronouns can replace nouns in sentences. Using pronouns well reduces unnecessary repetition and helps writing sound smoother while keeping the meaning clear.
What Students Practise
Students identify common pronouns, replace repeated nouns with suitable pronouns, choose pronouns that make sense in context and check that the reader can tell who or what the pronoun refers to.
How to Use It
Read each sentence aloud before answering. Ask students to identify the person, animal or thing being talked about, then choose a pronoun that clearly refers to it. After completing the worksheet, reread the sentences to check that the meaning is still clear.
Parent Tip
Use everyday sentences such as “Mia packed Mia's bag” and ask your child how to make the sentence less repetitive. Talk about why “she” works and why the reader still needs enough information to know who “she” means.
Learning Intention
Students will replace nouns with suitable pronouns to make sentences clearer and less repetitive.
